What’s your role at Aesthetic Shift, and what do you focus on day-to-day?
Operations Management and Administration.
How did you get into architecture/design/planning (or your current field)?
I’ve always found old architecture fascinating and mesmerising, on holidays my first port of call is seeing the local architecture. I’m a sucker for a gothic cathedral or cosy barn conversion with exposed beams. I had experience working in the admin in a busy environment so when my good friend offered me a position with the company, I couldn’t say yes quickly enough!
What excites you most about working at Aesthetic Shift?
The opportunity to be involved in the process of bringing other creatives’ visions to fruition and seeing those visions realised in construction materials that are set to stand the test of time.
Describe your working style or mindset in three words… Pro-active, Intuitive, Efficient.
I believe it’s crucial to stay on top of things in a fast-paced environment.
What’s one project or career moment you’re especially proud of?
I’m most proud of my career shift from the financial sector to architecture. Having always loved engaging, interesting architecture and never having thought it a reality for me to be a pivotal part of it, the opportunity to truly shift gears and engage with a welcoming team of like-minded individuals has been a much-needed breath of fresh air after what was a stagnating career for me.
If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing instead?
I would most likely be engaged in creative writing endeavours like writing books or just simply travelling the world, studying different architectures and getting to grips with the rich history contained in their nuances.
