- Managing a variety of projects throughout the country
- Using a variety of software and AI tools to create high-quality work
How did you get into architecture/design/planning?
With a diverse background in this sector, I have been involved in the land/planning sector for the past eight years. Before my career pathway, I graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in Ecology & Natural Sciences back in 2016. I have been very fortunate to work on a variety of infrastructure projects throughout the UK over the past few years and have built an excellent portfolio on client contel. Recently I have taken a more pivotal movement towards Planning operations and client strategy.
What excites you most about working at Aesthetic Shift?
What excites me about working here is the variety of projects I will be involved in anything from commercial, residential or working with a developer. My goal is to see these projects all the way through. With well-versed communication skills I thoroughly enjoy working with the Aesthetic Shift team on a daily basis and enjoy the fast-paced working environment in which strengthens my professional goals. I also enjoy working remotely as I am currently based in Perthshire, Scotland.
Describe your working style or mindset in three words… Methodical, ambitious and organised.
What’s one project or career moment you’re especially proud of — and why?
A few years ago, when I was working in the infrastructure team for a renewable energy firm, I took on a lot of responsibility for making the sure that a project called Moray West Offshore Wind Farm was finalised and that the planning and that the design phase was completed. During this time, I was responsible for carrying out all the land referencing and land consents. It is now finished and currently generates 882mw which will help power 1.3 million homes. I am very much proud of this achievement.
If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing instead?Out of my professional life, I am very much enthusiastic and adventurous about the outdoors and long-distance running. If I wasn’t doing this, I would take a few months off to complete the Camino de Santiago trial which is a 700km route from France to Spain, yes I would be attempting to walk this. I always could see myself settling down on an island off the west coast of Scotland and building my own house
